 Tongxi scenic spot is located in the boundary of Tongpu Township of Ruian city, named after the fact that Chinese phoenix trees were popular alongside the streams in the area in ancient times. It is composed of three places: Central Lake Island, Longtan and Yan'an, forming a typical feature of mountains and lakes intertwine each other and enjoying the fame of "Miniaturized Westlake". The hermit prime minister Tao Hongjing of the Southern Dynasty once praised it "the Wonderland in Yearning World".
