 Yuhai Building is one of the four famous buildings for book collection in Zhejiang province, which was established in 1888 AD of the Qing Dynasty by father and son Mr.Sun Yiyan and Mr.Sun Yirang. With a history of more than 120 years, it is now one of the key national units for the protection of historic relics. The typical feature of the building is that it serves three-fold purposes: book collection, private garden, and civilian residence of southern Zhejiang province. In 1964, Mr.Guo Moruo paid a special visit to Yuhai Building and wrote an inscription of couplet, which goes "Yucheng Taoli, Haiyong Bolan", meaning the success of the building is helped by nature, which stands the rolling waves of the seas and oceans.
